Facts about dating a transgender

Hey guys, let me please introduce myself first. My name is Jane, 32 years old and mother of 2 adorable kids. I am also well known as one of the co-founders of one of the earliest founded transgender dating app called translove. In the past decade since its first establishment, this famous transgender app has helped more than 1.2 million singles including shemale, ladyboy, crossdressing men as well as tomboy found their compatible half. However, even myself, as a transgender women, have experienced a lot of unpleasant dating experience with non trans people. And today I am going to talk about the unnoticed facts about dating a transgender women or transgender men.
Don’t see us as a fetish or novelty.
Because of the fact that trans girls as well as trans guys are overly sexualized by society, we often feel violated when being approached by others. For example, a guy I have dated once told me that “Guess what gorgeous, I have never dated a ts girl before and it definitely feels amazing”. Well, even though what he said seems to be a compliment, which has also ruled out all the possibility to continue the relationship with this guy. Not only because it is offensive to me as he’s referring me to a certain category while ignoring me being an individual, but also shows his ignorance about our group of people.
Don’t show off your ignorance.
It is also quite often being asked about even more personal questions on the first few dates. Questions regarding to my private part, to the reason why I choose to be different as well as plain and offensive questions only to satisfy their pure ignorance. So guys and girls who are dating ts girls or ts guys, make sure to do some research beforehand.
Don’t mix sexuality with gender.
This happen to transgender women as well as transgender men all the time to get their sexuality and gender mixed by their ts date. Because most people don’t seem to understand that sexuality and gender are two different things. For example, if you are a straight guy who is dating a transgender girl, it doesn’t mean that you are gay. Because your trans girl identify herself as a complete woman and you should support and accept her for who she is. It is important to differentiate two things, but it is also significant to know that at the end of the day it is love that matters. Who cares about what the gender of your date is?
Keeping us a secret is disrespectful.
Some of the people I have dated before somehow felt necessary to keep me a secret from his or her close friends and family, which is disrespectful. Maybe you have got homophobic parents or friends who are not so supportive. But I am not an objective who’s got no feelings. The right thing to do is to find the solution to solve problems.
